Never Have Dirty Traffic Lanes Again on Carpet

Most homeowners insist on having clean carpet in their home. Since dust, grease, and oil are in every home, dirty traffic lanes are common. Walking on carpet with no shoes leaves oils from the bottom of your feet.. Even pets in the house leave oil from their feet on the carpet. Your carpet will become dirtier over time because oils attract more dirt.

Hot water extraction is the best method as it remove soils by rinsing with hot water. Before rinsing, make sure you let the traffic lane cleaner dwell for fifteen minutes. If you happen to use a machine for carpet cleaning, make sure you use hot water, because cold water won’t clean well.

The machine you use for removing oily dirt from your carpet has to have good suction power to pull off all the dirt. In order to leave your carpet in a PH balanced state, a mild acid rinse is sometimes necessary if your traffic lane cleaner has high alkalinity. When your all done cleaning, apply a fabric protection and turn on your ceiling fans. Cold air is best, so set your air conditioner to 70 degrees. You should only consider opening your windows if the outside humidity is very low.

For best carpet apperance, make sure you have your carpets cleaned every year. It’s important to have your traffic lanes cleaned even if dirt isn’t apparent. Don’t wait until your carpet looks dirty to have it cleaned or you could have some permanent damage.

For best performance, consider reapplying fabric protection every other year to the high traffic areas. In most cases, brand new carpet comes with fabric protector.. Due to time and abrasion, your high traffic areas have their Scotchgard protected dwindling away.
